A weekend, library outing, and runny nose

This weekend was so great besides the fact that we were all sick. Jake didn't have any programs he needed to work on so Evelyn and I had a lot of time with Jake. We both love spending time with him. It was a quiet weekend. Even though we were sick we managed to get out of the house for just a little bit and go to the library (Evelyn's second home) when we knew a lot of people wouldn't be there. You can tell Evelyn is in her element when she walks into the children's section and starts pulling out books to flip through. The rest of the weekend was spend taking lots of bubble baths, and Jake and I taking turns being runny nose police.  Boy does that girl hate having her nose wiped! I love when we get weekends like this. Spending time as a family is my favorite thing to do in the entire world. And when the time comes along when Jake isn't busy with homework, we grab it and go!

It's going to be a beautiful weekend! Can't wait to spend it watching General Conference with my family and to hear the words of our Prophet and his counselors.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Weekend happenings

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Sadly we didn't have much of a weekend. Jake has been swamped with homework lately. However next weekend is going to be fun since we will finally be taking family pictures! Wish us luck. And tomorrow I am getting my hair done. Possibly taking a couple inches off....?? Adding a little color...?? Can't wait!

Happy Weekend

I know I'm a little late with the whole weekend thing. It doesn't quite feel like it for me. With all the car issues, (yes are car is totaled....sad day!) and this super weird, windy weather. It's hilarious to see Evelyn's hair blow in the wind. Ya gotta love it. Have a fabulous weekend everyone! We will be doing a Harry Potter marathon. We are on a marathon kick right now.

Mischief managed.

A milestone and a car accident

I was praying that this last weekend would be one of relaxation. The weekend before that, Jake and I had spent everyday moving and cleaning. Yes we moved. Again. I believe this was move #5 in our young married life. If anyone needs advice on moving and passing the cleaning inspection, Jake and I are pro. Not something I really wanted to be "pro" of.

Well the weekend started good. Calm. Beautiful weather. We were on our way to my parents house when a car came out and side swiped us. Yikes! Thankfully we were all okay besides Jake with a little whip lash and me in a panic/mommy mode. Evelyn was just fine but accidents tend to make me a little crazy. I found out today that the damage is worth $3,100. So so soooo glad it wasn't our fault. Now we get to wait and see if the insurance will pay to fix it or buy us another one.

On to a happier note...Evelyn rolled over for the first time on Saturday! I was one proud mamma. She rolled over again on Sunday which Jake was able to film while I was taking a needed nap. An overly tired baby all during church = one tired mamma. Lets hope this next weekend is very uneventful.

Right after she rolled over. She was so excited!

Two peas in a pod

These two have become quite the pals. I love watching them be together. Jake is the best dad ever and loves spending time with Evelyn. This week was my first week back at work and Jake was done with finals on Tuesday so they were able to spend some good quality time together. I called during work to check up on them and found out Jake was watching Cinderella with Evelyn! (heart melting...) My first day back at work was hard. Super hard. I cried the whole drive there. But as I got back into my routine, it got much easier. As of right now, it's been a good "out" for me. I love my job. I love the people I work with. And it's been nice to have some adult interaction. However, I can't wait till I can be a stay at home mom. I love being with Evelyn. Hopefully it wont be too long before that happens! Hope you all have a great weekend!  I hear we are supposed to have wonderful weather...I hope! I will be spending lots of time with these two and I am so excited!

Weekend bliss

The weekend is finally here and we are so excited! That means we get to spend more time with papa! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. We will be enjoying the beautiful weather, taking a look at the new mall, and listening to Conference. I can't wait to hear the beautiful music from the choir and to receive counsel and guidance from our apostles and our prophet.

Weekend bliss

Nothing like a four day weekend! Everyone should have a four day weekend always. Jake and I are headed up the canyon for a little picnicking and leaf crunching. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend and enjoy this beautiful weather!

A whole lotta fun

Our weekends have been packed with a lot of fun things! Last, last weekend we went to Jake's work party. Let me tell ya, APX knows how to throw a work party. They transformed their front lawn area into a motor cross arena and had Nitro Circus come and show us a thing or tow. I wasn't too familiar with Nitro Circus but apparently they do motor cross stunts for MTV. While there we also ran into a couple of my cousins there which was fun and oh my goodness, just take a look at this adorable little boy. I seriously couldn't get enough of him! He is one of my cousins. Adorable.

This last weekend, my dad surprised Jake and I with a full day at CLAS ropes course. So much fun! We both did some crazy things such as Jake jumping off a 75 ft ledge blindfolded and trying to catch a ring that was suspended in the air, and us tied together, climbing up a really small ladder and walking across a wire together.....and we learned a whole lot! At the end they fed us all Costa Vida which I was super happy about. As for this weekend.....Jake and I are headed down to St. George to attend Thriller, do some hiking here, and stop by the temple. I can't wait!

Spiritual lift

This weekend was a very spiritual lifting one for me. With stake conference, I felt that everything the speakers said was something I needed to hear. Something I needed to work on. Something to help comfort me.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend because I sure did.

Weekend fun

Jake and I thought it would be fun to take a little visit to the Zoo over the weekend. I can't even tell you how long it's been since I've been to the Zoo. I didn't remember anything except the little holes you can stick your head through.

They had a new baby elephant named Zuri who is just the cutest thing ever!

This picture shows Jake and I pretty well. Jake is a perfectionist, and I am kind messy and like my sauces. Although I think this time it was a tad too much.

Epic Saturday

So I forgot to tell you about our crazy, fun filled Saturday that Jake and I had. So my dad a couple of days ago had asked me if Jake and I wanted to go waterfall repelling.
"Wait like walking down a cliff next to a waterfall?!" I was a little excited by the idea. Count us in! Let me tell ya it was so dang fun. I will admit I was a tiny bit scared at the very beginning because seriously....you are walking down a cliff. Backwards. Next to a waterfall. Jake absolutely loved it and went a couple of times. Both of us got very wet and if we didn't, my dad would pull your rope into the waterfall so you would get wet.

After that we went to a baseball game. Now normally I wouldn't call going to a baseball game epic. I think it's rather boring to watch. But we were given free tickets that also came with free food. You can never pass up that opportunity. The best part about the game was talking with my parents and hearing their "newly wed" stories. Hilarious. I love my parents.
After that we rushed to Thanksgiving Point where we partook of this. Fabulous. The funny thing was Jake and I had seen a flyer for it a few days before and wanted to go, until we saw the price of the tickets. Too much for us poor newly weds. I was a little sad. Then Jake came home one day and pulled out two tickets for us! I thought he had just gone online and purchased them with out me knowing so I was going to be a little mad, (after the concert of course) but he then explained to me that his work was giving them away for free and that made it even better! So this whole Saturday of epic things was totally free. Excluding parking for the stupid baseball game but that doesn't count.

Star light, star bright

Yesterday night, this happened.
It was amazing!

Jake and I counted at at least fourteen shooting starts, and a couple of meteors.
I love looking up into a starry sky. You get lost and you feel so insignificant amongst all those stars.

Like I said, it was amazing.

Weekend arival

Jake and I are starting our weekend early and going camping.
We both have our fishing license in hand.
Yes you read correct. We BOTH have our fishing license in hand.
Wish me luck!
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

A little this, A little that

Who would have thought that life could get even busier when not in a semester of school.

Well it is.

But....it's grand!

We just celebrated Meg's 19th birthday....which it really isn't until Thursday but she was working that day, mom and I are both gone for choir stuff....pretty lame. It was great though! I hope she got everything she wanted. I'm counting down the days for mine! Twelve days my friends! Honestly I think twenty is a fat age. Boring. Twenty one...now that's exciting! But I am sad I have to change my license. I am quite fond of mine, except for my awful signature. I should start practicing that.

I spent the weekend with Jamie and her family which I always love! They are pretty much my second family. We went to see her sister in a musical called The Boyfriend. Loved. It. We got home so excited to watch Italian job because who wouldn't want to see Mark Wahlberg's amazing arms and cute smile. We both fell asleep within the first ten min. It's those couches I tell ya!

I met his whole family this last Sunday and had a blast! Of course I was a tad nervous at the very beginning but soon just found my place. One of his little nephews, who is five mind you, came up to me and said this.

"Heather, what are your intentions with my Jacob?"

Me: face turning redder by the moment and laughing. A lot. Does he even know what that word means? It was so cute.

So I've decided I want to explore the whole crock pot thing more. So if any of you have some really yummy recipes you should holla!

Weekend activities

What a weekend! I know Thursday isn't really part of the weekend but that day was important too. UVU's institute has the opportunity to provide a choir for Aprils Sunday morning session of General Conference! They had auditions Thursday night which went on really late into the night. There were soooo many people there auditioning. They only have room for 365 singers and......

I am one of those 365! I am so excited to be able to take part in this wonderful experience, and to share my love of music with others. So look for me Sunday morning! Friday we had the privilege of being able to hear from L. Tom Perry, also at UVU's institute. What a funny man. His talk was on living a well balanced life. To summarize his talk, he gave us four tips.

1. Realize who we are
2. Value truth, and be truth seekers
3. Be a trusted generation, and live by good standards
4. Seek learning from the scriptures

There was a lot more that he went into but that was the gist. Such an amazing apostle and boy is he tall! Friday was also a fun date snowshoeing and a night of games. Life is amazing right now.

Saturday morning was spend celebrating my dear roommates 20th birthday! Man we are all getting old. We stuffed our faces at Los for lunch and it was amazing. She had to wear a dorky "Happy Birthday" hat too! After that, I journeyed up to Salt Lake to spend the weekend with an old roommate who is pretty much my adopted sister and I consider her family to be my adopted family. I love them all! We were able to catch up, and make wonderful cookies n' cream cupcakes with the most amazing frosting ever. We had a girls night which included the face masks, and a good episode of Saved by the Bell. Next morning, we both got up fairly early and went to Music and the Spoken Word. It was awesome! Lots of good songs were sung. After that I raced home and made it just in time to listen to my cousin speak at his homecoming. If you know our family, you would know that we are all really close. It was so good to see him and other family members, and to hear stories from his mission as well as to see how much his testimony has grown. Like I said....what a weekend.

And can I just say how much I love Monday holidays?!

Nothing Better

This weekend was grand for many reasons.
  1. My dad took me four wheeling up in the mountains. Oh how I have missed that. Our family would go four wheeling all the time! The scenery was beautiful. I can't believe how fast Autumn comes and goes. I tried to take as much in as I could while driving around.
  2. My car is finally clean. Oh boy was it dirty.
  3. Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.
  4. A dear roommate, her mom, her grandma, my mom and I, all went out to the Blue Iguana, (yum...) and then went to Women's Conference at the Conference Center. Some very good talks were shared there.
  5. BYU won their game!
  6. Visit from a cousin that I haven't seen in a while.
  7. A call from my roommate who is in Germany.
  8. Started and finished a paper that was due Friday!
  9. Time with the family.
There is nothing better than a fun weekend with your family and dear friends.
