Featured

I was featured on bedheadmom where moms and their bed head are celebrated! Wendy, the maker of this site is a beautiful person inside and out and it was so fun to just sit and talk with her. We talked a lot  about beauty and how we both think it is so important for our children, especially girls, to learn that true beauty comes from the inside. Head on over to here to check it out!

Identity Crisis

So if you couldn't tell, my blog is going through a little bit of an identity crisis. Since I can't rearrange the furniture in the apartment (cause it will only fit one way), I try to change anything else that I can.

I'm a girl. I love to change things around. I'm even thinking of cutting me some bangs again.

Maybe.

I'm just warning you. My blog might be different in a couple of days. Maybe, maybe not.

Oh and by the way, I totally caught a fish on our camping trip.
Pictures and stories soon to come.

Subconsciously

So everyone has been asking me if I have been stressed at all.
I would answer all of the them, "No actually!" which is totally true.

Subconsciously I think I might be stressed.
Dang eye has been twitching for five days now.

Most annoying feeling.
Ever.

And yes I am getting enough potassium. I think.

Lovely

Can I just tell you how much I am digging this weather?
It's hard when you work in a third floor dental office with a lot of windows to see
all the happy people running, biking, or walking their dog.
I wish I had a dog to walk.

Maybe one day.
Jake and I do want a dog....maybe a Lab perhaps? A golden one?

Went to go look at some mattresses today for our apartment and I got this silly urge
to jump from bed to bed. Am I mature enough to get married?

Yes I am!

Rehearsal #2

Today we all got in order with how we would be sitting at the Conference Center. They had everyone go into the gym and get in order from tallest to shortest. So I meandered over to where I thought I would go. I was checking to see height wise if I was in the right place when an individual let me know that "you actually belong CLEAR up there!"

Why thank you kind individual for putting a lot of emphasis on the word "clear" to make me feel better!

Haha don't worry I have come to terms with my shortness.

We still haven't heard what our finalized songs will be. The church is still working on that. For our sake I really hope one of them is hymn #64 because our conductor has committed us to memorization of that song at our very first rehearsal. He has a pretty good feeling about that one. I hope he is right! After doing a good hour rehearsal on one song, one of our conductors, who is hilarious by the way, just spouted off for the last seven minutes. I can't even remember what he was saying but I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! I felt like I was attending a Brian Regan show.

Hilarious. I love choir teachers with a good sense of humor.

NYR

So here I am....a year later....writing down my New Years Resolutions. I'll be honest, I don't think I crossed off a whole lot from my NYR list from last year. Actually now that I look back on that list, I think I finished at least half of them. Anyway....needless to say I am starting simple and basing everything I want to accomplish off of this quote.

"Don't wish it were easier. Wish you were better." - Jim Rohn

followed by this quote.

"Nothing preaches better than the act." - Benjamin Franklin

2010 has a lot to live up to, but I have a feeling this year will have lots in store for me.

Lesson Learned

Today, I learned a valuable lesson. One that I hope all of you might benefit from. Most of you probably already know this and might think..."duh!" Well for some reason I like to learn things the hard way. Before I get to the "lesson learned" part, let me tell you a quick intro. So a couple of weeks ago I was home in PG, staying the night for something. Anyway, I had to leave early in the morning and it had snowed a lot. I thought it might be easier to pull my car into the driveway so I could quickly put my stuff inside. Well when I got back, I got a pretty stern talk from my father about what a dumb thing I had just done. I was so confused. Well driving my car across the fresh snow on the driveway was the dumb thing I did. Apparently I haven't had the experience of trying to shovel off that compacted snow. My brother just shook his head at me like "wow you are a retard! Everyone knows that!"

Well I decided that I would shovel my grandparents driveway tonight. They obviously can't shovel that huge thing. When I say huge I mean really, really loooonngggg! It was a pain in the butt, back, and neck. It was just me, out there all by myself, with the smallest snow shovel I have ever seen. However, I did get a great workout from it though. While shoveling, I realized what my dad and brother were talking about. Multiple cars had driven on the fresh snow and compacted it pretty good. It sucked. Mucho. I would rather wash a million dishes and do a ton of laundry then do that again. When I finally got to the end of the driveway, I walked up to find already another inch had fallen and made my hard efforts look like pretty much nothing. Exhausted, I put the shovel away and just layed in the middle of the driveway like a slug and watched the snow fall onto the ground as I cursed it.

Watching the snow fall was memorizing. So beautiful. I finally got cold enough and went inside.

Lesson: shovel the driveway before you drive on it. If you have time. Which I will make time for.

Problem

So remember how I am a shoe fanatic? Well that still is very applicable.

However, I have another thing to add to my fanatic list. I love love dresses. Especially dresses with pockets. If it has pockets then I am totally sold. Finally got around to my Christmas shopping today and after I finished I found I had some extra money. So I decided that since I did such a good job on my finals that I would reward myself!

This is what I got! And....it has pockets!
You don't want to know how many dresses I have. It's embarrassing.

Manic Monday

I am one of "those kids" who does not like to listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. It just makes sense in my head. I did get a little excited when I went to Tai Pan and my mom finally got her frosted tree. I can't think of the real name for it right now. Anyways, well my mom wants to set it up so we can see what ornaments we need to get, for we are for going our country theme and doing something new. My dad however said as long as there are pilgrims (decorations of course) in the living room , you can't have a Christmas tree up at the same time. Well Sunday, I got in a weird Christmas music mood and listened to Christmas music all day. My roommate was shocked. That weird mood ended Monday morning though so no worries.

Do you ever have one of those days where you are so busy that you don't notice the day go by until it's over? Like what did I do today? Today was like that. Work was so busy which can be a very good thing and a notta good thing. It went by so fast! I was so tired today too so that didn't help. I almost said "peace out" to one of my patients as I walked them up front. No bueno. I caught myself just in time though.

Nerd

I never thought I would be this excited over a new library card.

But I am. I know I'm a nerd. Who loves to read.

Everything.

Dah!

I'm sure this has happened to many of you before. And you feel like such a retard afterwords. Or at least I did.

So I am driving home from Pleasant Grove. I hop on the freeway and head south. As I am driving, I notice a car that got on the freeway the same time as me. Every time I switch a lane, they follow. I exit. So do they. I get in the left hand lane. They do too. By now I'm thinking "what the heck!" I take the weirdest way home possible. Still behind me. Now I'm nervous. "Why are these people following me?" And of course my mind starts playing all these tricks on me, making me think that as soon as I get out the car they will drive by and snatch me up or something crazy like that. Beginning to get super paranoid, I take sharp corners and speed up to try and lose them. I pull into the driveway, and they do too....next door.

Yep those where my neighbors.

They gave me a weird look as I quickly walked inside trying to hide my embarrassment. All I know is that if they drive that way home all the time, it's the weirdest route I have ever seen.

Delight

Dear fall, please make your self at home and stay a while.

My new favorite thing to do is drive through a pile of leaves really fast and to see them flutter behind me. I might like it even more than driving through big puddles on a rainy day!

Soon to come....pictures of all the witches at Gardner Village. Yes I went with a group of girls during witches night out where everyone dresses up as a witch and they do a bunch of fun things. It was fantastic. I don't know why I haven't heard of this place before. They had some of the cutest little shops and one where I wanted to buy every single piece of furniture and home decor thing in that shop.

All you ladies should go.

Stout

I love when I am reminded of how stout in nature I am.

Especially when I get in my car after my father or brother have taken it for a ride.

Thanks mom for giving me your short legs. Really though I am thankful. I can wear all the fun high heels I want and will never have to worry about being taller than the guys!

Fact

  • I am addicted to popsicles. I have a couple almost every day.
  • Lemon Pepper is the best seasoning ever invented.
  • Still don't like tomatoes which makes me sad. I finally tried one again with mozzarella cheese and basil sprinkled on top....it wasn't horrible, but not good either.
  • I am so impatient when it comes to cooking. Noodles especially. I'm working on it.
  • Drinking raspberry lemonade out of a champagne glass is much better than just a regular glass.
  • Today is 9/9/09 -Elvis Presley appeared on television for the first time on The Ed Sullivan Show fifty three years ago.

Confession #2

I love soft mints. Way. Too. Much!
A bunch of dentists that we refer patients to for stuff brought all the girls lunch and had these 4th of July baskets with all sorts of treats. Including a couple bags of soft mints. Apparently I was drooling or making a funny face or something because the girls noticed and asked sarcastically if I would like some. I pretty much ate 1/2 of the bag by myself. Gross.

But I love them.
