Sleepy

Jake and I have been trying (key word trying) to watch all the Harry Potter movies before we see the last one.
So far I have fallen asleep during one and two.
Not off to a good start.

We don't eat normal popcorn.

I've been craving me some popcorn all weekend and the craving is still here. I must be lacking in sodium or something. We use the amazing Whirley Pop.
When Jake and I were filling the bridal registry a while back, he saw that I had put the Whirley Pop on the list and started to laugh. I can't remember exactly what I said but I told him it was amazing and that he would never be able to go back to regular popcorn again and that we are keeping it on our list. Thankfully someone else appreciated the amazingness. We had half of our movie that we wanted to finish today....so of course I suggested we have popcorn. Jake asked if we wanted to have normal popcorn. Normal popcorn?! Are ya kidding me? We don't eat normal popcorn.

Jake makes a fabulous batch of Whirley pop.

(I mostly tell him that so he makes it! Mostly.)

He really does make a good batch though.

Remembered

So today it hit me that we are almost into May.

And then it hit me that June is after May.

And then I remembered a youtube video my dad sent me when Jake and I finally decided on June fourth for our wedding and it made me extremely happy.

Weekend with friends

What am I doing up so late?

Well this weekend was a fun one. A friend and I drove up to Park City to do a little shopping as well as test out the Alpine Slide. Seriously I have lived in Utah my whole ENTIRE life and had just recently heard about the Alpine Slide.

Soooo much fun!

But man was it cold! I forgot to bring a jacket with me, (stupid I know) so I had to buy one, which was okay because I will be needing one later when Fall comes! Which I can't wait for! After Park City I hurried home to change to make it to one of my friend's wedding receptions. Those are always so weird to go to when they are all your friends that are getting married. But it is fun to see people you haven't seen in a while. I stayed longer than I thought and I remembered I promised a very dear friend of mine that I would take him to a movie since this would be the last time we could hang out before he moves. We were going to see Julie and Julia at 10:05pm. Highly recommend the movie. Well I rushed home quickly, changed, and headed out the door. Halfway there I noticed that I didn't bring my wallet. STUPID! So I had to hurry and rush back and grab it. Here all my grandparents are hearing at this point is the door open and shut very frantically. No worries. I made it just in time. I really did like the movie. It made we want to take cooking lessons really bad. We will see what I can find. Oh how I would love to go to Europe just to taste the food. My sister really liked the food there when she went, but she did say that the Snickers were better here in America. The only disclaimer about the movie. They randomly through in the "f" bomb which makes me so frustrated! Really? Did you really need to just through that in there? All in all, good weekend.

My Sisters' Keeper

So I went to go see My Sisters' Keeper last night and man oh man. Not the smartest idea ever. I really liked it. But no joke, I cried during the whole. entire. movie.

This movie really comes close to home for me, and during the movie I felt I could relate to almost everything. Constantly throwing up during chemotherapy and feeling very ugly and not pretty at all. Another event that I related to was how her sickness was tearing her family apart. Now in my case, it wasn't tearing our family apart but it was hard on the family. I would always joke about how it seemed like my parents were divorced because my mom was with me in the hospital on the week days, while my dad came to be with me during the weekend. One parent was always gone and I don't know how my parents did it. They are amazing and I love them so much. I remember when my vision started going blurry because of all the medication I was on, how my dad would read to me because I couldn't. You all know how much I love reading. When I was able to move out of the hospital my mom was always willing to make me whatever I felt like eating because it was very rare that I was able to eat anything at all. She would make it or purchase it, no matter how weird it sounded. But the one thing I felt like I could relate to the most was that the character loved her sister. I love all my sisters but what Megan and I had to go through together created a bond that not a lot of people can understand. She saved my life. I remember one time when were fighting, just as sisters do sometimes, her saying to me, "I saved your life and I didn't have to." She was still young haha but I can tell you that if we had to go through it again today, she wouldn't change a thing. Of course I wouldn't want to do it all over but now that I can look back at trial, I can see the blessings that came from it. I was able to take my family and meet our beloved prophet Gordon B. Hinckley. What an amazing experience that was for my family and I. I don't take anything in my life for granted and my faith has increased immensely. The Lord watches over all his children and doesn't give them trials that he thinks they can't handle. I knew he was with me through the whole entire thing.

Watching this movie brought back so many memories, good and bad, but it was nice to remember and to think back on that part of my life. To my family, I love you all so much! To friends and other relatives, thank you so much for taking some of that load off my parents and helping our family! It has been eight years since my bone marrow transplant. Can you believe it?

Life is good.

Triple Threat

I am such a fun of the "old" movies with Doris Day, Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds...can't get enough of them. My roommate and I decided we had nothing better to do then to watch old movies. I told her of a movie that I used to watch all the time called "Tammy and the Bachelor" and how my little brother used to go around singing the theme song, "Tammy's in love." He would probably kill me if you all knew that but we like to tease him about it once and a while. For Christmas my mom thought it would be funny if we got him the DVD! Not only did my mom get that DVD, but she got a triple threat!

Not only did he get Tammy and the Bachelor, he got Tammy Tell Me True, and Tammy and the Doctor!! I had never seen the other two so my roommate and I decided to watch all three of all them! Not all in one day of course but I can say that after watching these, we have both found someone else that was more naive than we were!! That never happens!
