Tis the year of Boys

I have a couple of friends who are all having boys! One is having hers next month and I found yet another sewing project I want to do for her. I better get started soon.

Fanito!

Finally these little cuties are done. They were a little bit harder than the last ones I did. I had to teach myself how to do a blanket stitch, (which really isn't that hard but I had never done one) which I turned to Youtube...thank you Youtube. You seriously can learn how to do anything there. I am so done with shoes for a while. And so is grandma. I had to enlist her to help me!

Now that these are finished I can finally work on my pinwheel skirt. 

Crafts

I've been on another crafty craze the past couple of days. I've been working on making these little cuties. My cousin had a baby shower coming up and I just had to make a pair. 

(These are not the ones I made but they look just like this with different fabric. I forgot to take a picture before I wrapped it up.)

So cute right?

 I told Jake if we ever have a little girl, she will have lots and lots of shoes just like her mama!

Gypsies

I read a statement on a friends blog a while ago that totally applies to me right now. She talked about how most newly weds can be compared to gypsies, and every once in a while you gather what little you have and and attempt to make it work in a new home. For us that is right now. You know, I thought I got rid of a lot of items when I got married and moved into this apartment, but now that we are moving out I find myself thinking, "How did we fit all of THIS into this little apartment!" It's crazy the things you acquire over a couple of months. Thankfully our new place is fairly big and has TONS of storage space.

You have no idea how happy this makes me.

And we can actually put our dining table in the kitchen where it belongs instead of the living room. Also super happy about that!

Also I found this amazing, actually two amazing skirts that I am going to try to make over Thanksgiving. Maybe I should say start making them, with a big emphasis on the "start". I have a strong feeling it's going to take me a lot longer than that. I think I will start with this one!
