Green

Jake and I are both going green this summer; and by green I mean we are both going to ride our bikes to work. After Jake got his bike stolen (I don't like to mention it because it makes us both a little peeved), we were at a lost for bike rides since I didn't have a bike either. I had mentioned to him a couple of weeks ago that we should just look for some bikes on KSL. We are so close to the Provo Canyon and I love biking through there. We both should have a bike. Time went by, and I kind of forgot about it. Well he went on his own, found two bikes and surprised me with them!

Seriously I have the best husband.

Now since we both work not too far from home, we thought why not bike to work? Sometimes I wish Utah was a little more closer together so we could ride our bikes everywhere! Heck I would even bike to the grocery store and do some shopping if I had a little basket.

Except I don't think that would work when going to Costco.

Bike ride #3

So I finally got around to doing my fathers day gift with my dad. I chose to take him on a bike ride up Provo Canyon, and I was a nice sister and let Nate tag along. Dad and I rode the tandem bike while Nate road my moms' road bike. We had our Subway sandwiches packed in the back and headed up the trail. Only a couple of minutes into the bike ride, Nate shifts wrong or something and the chain falls off. We fix the chain and start off again when we hear a "pop!" Nate now popped the tire. Haha! We usually have a spare tire in the be back, but there was none to be found. So we handed Nate his sandwich and said see ya later! There wasn't much we could really do! Dad and I biked up to Bridal Veil Falls, we were going to bike up to Vivian Park but my lungs were not ready for that yet since I was still getting over my nasty cold. Once we got there we ate our sandwiches and sat down for a bit. Just as we are about to leave, Nate pulls up.

What the....

I guess while Nate was walking his bike back, a biker stop by and asked if everything was okay. The biker had an extra tire and actually taught Nate how to change it for himself. Bikers are so nice. So he peddled his little butt off to catch up to us. It was a great bike ride. Next time we will bike up to Vivian Park and my cold will be gone!

Bike ride numba duex

Penny and I have been quite the avid bike riders. I hope to go on many more. This time we met at Provo canyon, got on out bikes, and headed down the trail to Bridal Veil Falls. It rained a little bit before we got together so the ride was a little humid; BUT it was cool humid! The weather was perfect and the canyon smelt amazing. Very fresh and somewhere along the trail we passed some type of lilac bush or something because it smelled very very good! This trail is very deceiving though. It looks flat. It's not. Biking up to the falls was hard! I was so confused on why I had to stand up a couple of times and do some hard pedaling when we were on a flat trail. We finally made it up to the falls, stopped and took a couple of pictures as it started to rain, and found a place to eat our snacks.
The ride down was a little chilly because we were flying downhill. I think I reached 20 mph going down one hill. At least that's what it said on my little device on my bike. We both had to pull out our sweaters. We passed these two guys on a skateboard and I only bring this up because we passed them about three times! Haha the first time I had to stop and take a picture, so while taking that they passed us. Penny and I headed out and passed them again. Then we went to check out this park with these really nice pavilions. As we headed up to the pavilions I saw the two guys pass us again.
"Dang...we are going to pass them again!"
I felt really stupid as I passed them again and waved with an awkward smile.
As we reached near the end, we started to slow down just a tad and take our sweet time because we thought no one was around. Well Penny and I start riding across the bridge when we hear this "bbbrrring bbriiinngg!" behind us.
This old man on a bike came out of no where and apparently was impatient with us. The sound of his little bike bell sounded annoyed. We quickly moved out of his way and let him pass.
"We just got belled at."
"haha yes we did, by an old man."

Next time I want to bike to Vivian Park!
