A New Love

  • Right basic
  • 3 knee repeater
  • Street fighter
  • Hamstring curls
  • Side Lifts
  • Over the top
  • Corner to corner kicks
  • Double side out
Awesome techno music, sweat dripping off your face, purple colored stepping stools....

Step aerobics : aerobics that involves repeatedly stepping on and off a raised platform —called also step training.

I have found a new love for this funny looking exercise. My roommates and I go every Thursday after work and have enjoyed it immensely! Tonight we went a little into turbo kicking which was a little bit harder to get the steps down; mostly because I kept watching the guy, (notice it's plural for he was the ONLY guy) try to do the steps! Oh man he was off in every way possible! It was hilarious. I give him props though for being able to hang in there! After our step workout we go straight into abs. Holy cow tonight was a killer! But you feel so good afterwords. Pretty soon we will be regular members and know all of the different combos. I can't wait!

Bleeding paper

Can I just tell you all how stressful this dental hygiene application has been?!? Goodness! I had everything together and when I was going through the list a couple of weeks ago I noticed that I had to write an essay. Now usually I am pretty good at writing essays, but when you have to write about yourself and why they should pick you over every other applicant....it gets a little scary. But it is pretty much finished, thanks to a little bit of help from awesome people and I will be turning everything in hopefully on Wednesday! You have no idea how many drafts I have gone through and how my papers have been bleeding blue and red ink! After I turn the application in I get to wait....which I am not good at. I don't plan on getting in my first time, (which rarely happens) but we will see what happens!

Eventful

What a day it has been! First of all today has felt like Tuesday and Friday all in the same day! I never know what day it is in the first place but this really messed me up. Well today was the day my roommates and I finally got to meet the special needs kids in our institute class! I was so excited! I think there were around eleven or twelve kids there. We started off by singing "I am a Child of God" which I missed singing that at special needs mutual. It gave me chills! haha! We each were paired off and we (the students) were in charge of teaching our partner the first lesson: Our Father in Heaven. My partner's name was Aaron and he had a hard time with speech but he was the cutest kid ever! We got along just great. So that just made my day. Thursdays are now officially my new favorite day of the week. So after that I hurried to work where I worked on a couple of patients and then ran home to change, then ran back to school to study for an hour and then take my first Pathophysiology test....scary!! I hate the first tests because I have no idea what I am getting myself into. After the test, I ran to the gym, biked a couple of miles and then met my roommates for a step & abs cardio class! Oh my I have never had so much fun or sweat that much in a long time! It felt so good. Definitely going to have to do that class again! After that I rushed back home, got in my swimsuit and soaked in the hot tub while it was raining! Loved that! Now I get to relax for a little bit before I need to study some more. What a day! At least I have been very productive eh?!

Coming to a Close

This week is finally coming to a close! Thank heavens! I can now sit and take a breathe. Fill my lungs with precious oxygen....at least until Tuesday when I have to take another test. I am still not quite done with my dental hygiene essay but it's almost there! I've had writers block lately and am just waiting for some inspiration. But I plan to have it finished and mailed in sometime next week.....probably Thursday. It will feel so good to have that done and off my back. Today I woke up at 6:30 (I know crazy for a Saturday...) to study Bio Med. I finally had enough and took the test around 10 and got a 93%....eh not bad. Then around noon a bunch of us went bowling! I think the last time I had gone bowling was junior year in high school; so yes I was a bit rusty. My roommate and I just finished watching Moulin Rouge and we both sobbed a couple of tears.....lets just say I'm glad to have a roommate that gets as emotional as I do during movies; curse my blubbering emotions! I am excited for no school on Monday but sadly, I also work. Bleh. Hopefully this next week will go a little bit better than the previous week.

Lack of Oxygen

Things to get done this week:
1. Bio Med test
2. Pathophysiology test
3. Art test
4. Dental Hygiene application
5. Essay for Dental Hygiene application
6. Empty my brain even further to come up with an art project
7. Clean up kitchen because no one else will do it
8. Get ankle x-rayed...it's doing some weird things

I tend to stretch myself too far occasionally and I don't like it when I do! It's exhausting! I'm becoming anti-social and I am not an anti-social person. I feel like a bug that's been picked up by a silly little girl and put in a glass box where I can't escape and lacks oxygen! I need to take a mini road trip or something. I need to breathe.

After all these feelings running through my head, I decided to stop everything that I was doing, grab a book and read. I had 30 minutes of bliss. 30 minutes to forget about all the things I needed to do and to get lost in a book. It was wonderful. Therapeutic.

A better me

I am usually not a fan of new year's resolutions because I never really seem to stick to any of them or I make goals to high for me to accomplish. This year is going to be different. I can feel it! Since I have never really made a list I semi went a little crazy with the goals. I might not finish all of them; I might not finish most of them; but I am going to try.
  1. Daily-morning prayers and scripture study
  2. Paint toenails rainbow style
  3. Finish oil painting
  4. Keep room clean!
  5. Go to FHE
  6. Expand my cooking skills
  7. Budget money
  8. Go to a monster truck ralley
  9. Run a mini Triathlon
  10. Do baptisms once a week
  11. Bare testimony more often and not just in relief society
  12. Go to a Broadway
  13. Always look for the good in others instead of their faults
  14. Eat fish
  15. Memorize favorite scripture
  16. Read patriartical blessing often
  17. More service and less play
  18. Work on making good habits regular habits
  19. Go on a random road trip
  20. Go 80's dancing
  21. Make a New Year's Resolution list and stick with it
Now a lot of these are just for fun; random things I've wanted to do. The rest are there to help me grow. To be a better person. A better me. I hope next year to look back on the things that I have accomplished, to look at who I was, and to see who I have become.

Ready...set...go!

So the semester has finally started...thank heavens; not that I didn't love being home for the holidays, I just needed a schedule to stick too...I'm lost without one. It was nice to have a couple of days where I didn't do anything at all besides read! Oh how I have missed that. I could read for hours and hours until my eyes couldn't stay open. School has been great so far! It's going to be another hard semester but a very fun and exciting one at that! Walking around campus has been quite an adventure. I wish I could just sit inside and watch all the individuals that slip and fall in the snow. I don't know why I find it so funny but at least I can laugh at myself when I fall...which has almost happen quite a number of times; one while carrying a cup of hot chocolate...that would've been very bad indeed! It's a good thing most of my classes are in the same building so I don't really have to trudge around in the snow.

Church has moved to blasted 1:30....not really excited for that one but there is a good side to having church at 1:30 and that is to finally be able to make it to Music and the Spoken Word! It's quite a different experience being there live then just watching it on TV. Well I have many new goals for this year and I hope to fulfill all of them, or at least to come close to!

Oh how I wish it would stop snowing....

Gasp!

While I was in the book store, purchasing some books and a warm pair of Weber State sweats...I ran into Harry Potter! He looked identical. It was a little bit creepy! Didn't see a scar on his forehead though...
