Chugging along

I am happy to report that this semester is going along fantastic! Yes I am at school at 7 in the morning every day, and yes I have around 3 tests a week...but seriously things have changed for the better! It's about time! I've done great on all my tests so far and hope that continues. I actually have a good social life too! Huge change from last year where my social life entailed my bio med book and work. We play games and have treats with friends every Sunday night, things are just awesome! My calling...still coming along...I finally found a song I want to do, I just need to square a couple of things off with the Bishop before I really get started. Whether I have a budget or not, where is the copying center, (there are two chapels on our building so it gets confusing) and when would be the best time to practice. Other than that I am good to go! I even have a roommate that will be playing the violin with us! Three cheers for talented roommates :)

A day of fun!

I hurried to drop my little cousin off to her soccer game, and rushed back to the apartment to get ready and to make sure the apartment looked decent. He was coming up so I could show him around Ogden. I had the whole day planned with a bunch of fun things and I was hoping that everything would just fit together perfectly and that it would be really fun. He got here and we left to go drive around town. We stopped by the "happening place" where they had the indoor surfing and skydiving where we watched a couple of people take a hard biffing trying to surf. Haha we both got a kick out of that! Later we drove down to the Union State where we ate at the Union Grill. Fantastic. Food was great. Conversation was great. So far so good! Then we walk up and down Historic 25th street for a little bit, went into the cute little bike shop and a couple of antique stores, then we left to meet a bunch of people to go ice blocking! Ice blocking was a huge hit! By the end we were going down the hill backwards and making a train with everyone going down the hill. I biffed a couple of times and got a nice grass stain right on my left cheek...very attractive! After ice blocking we came back to the apartment, got changed, had dinner and left for the WSU vs Dixie football game. It was our homecoming game and needless to say...we killed them! There were fireworks afterwards which are always fun to watch. After the game, we came back to the apartment, ate dessert and played a couple of intense games of Spoons! It was his first time playing the game, but he caught on pretty fast! Everything went great and he had such a great time! I did too!

New at this

I love Sundays. It was my first time going back to my old ward from last year. It felt like I was starting all over again. Tons of new faces, a couple of familiar scattered throughout the crowd. This Sunday was fast Sunday and the testimonies were awesome! We had a new convert who was baptized last year when I was there at the ward, who bore his testimony with pride. How I love to listen to new converts and how their life has changed because of the truth they now have in their life. We had a couple of missionaries who had just gotten off their mission, and those are always good. Still a little awkward but they will come along soon. Even relief society was filled with spiritual goodness! It was a great Sunday!
During sunday school, the bishopric came in and grabbed me. I was thinking that they needed to take my picture again to get a new one. But no. They pulled me into a little room and had me sit down.

"We knew you were coming back to this ward, so we already have a calling for you!"
"haha....okay....great!"
"Heather, you are so talented and can do anything."
Now I'm thinking oh great...this isn't going to be just a regular calling.
"We have called you to be the Choral conductor"
.....speachless...of course I said yes but I'm a little nervous

I've pretty much decided that the Choir conductor is my families calling in life; and it was only a matter of time before I got called to this calling! But I've never directed a choir before! I would rather be the one singing! How am I going to get people to come? What song should I have them start learning first? What time should we practice?
Secretly though I am kinda excited! Instead of just singing, I get to help create the music, the mood, and help others find their love for music as much as I do! I will defiantly be turning to my mom for advice and my artistic cousin too! Help me out guys! Lend me some of your knowledge on the subject.

Young

I am currently babysitting the cutest little girl ever. Oh how I miss babysitting! We practiced our culinary skills, sang with kitchen utensils to Disney songs, and had our nails done! Or in my case had my nails blobbed on with blobs of hot pink fingernail polish! Here are a couple of our serious topics we went over while swinging.

"Aliens are real even though I haven't seen them. They live on the dark side of the moon."

"I want to be a mystery girl when I grow up. Except I wouldn't wear a hat because only boys wear hats. I would wear a bow and a dress and where rock star shoes."

"That cloud looks like a dragon. You know dragons are real, but only in China."
